Display an Attribute Field Value by Attributes Other than its CN

Display an Attribute Field Value by Attributes Other than its CN

When certain attributes such as the managedBy attribute display in PeopleUpdate, you may note that the value displays as the CN and not the display name. To fix this, ensure the attribute is properly configured on the Attributes management page of the Admin Console. Note the following configuration options for the attribute in edit mode and ensure the Store by DN value is checked if you want the value to be stored by its Display Name.   If “Store by DN” is checked the value’s CN will be used when displaying the attribute by default.

If you want the value to be stored by its DN but displayed using some other attribute other than its CN, enter a value into the Display Attribute field:  for example entering “mail” would display the field’s email address.
